UN Foundation Sending 346,000 Bed Nets to 11 African Nations
The United Nations Foundation is trying to tackle malaria by sending over 346,000 bed nets to refugees in 11 African nations. The Foundation's Nothing But Nets campaign has already shipped over 275,000 nets to 27 camps in Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya and Sudan. Each bed net can protect a family of four from malaria.
"Recently, we were able to provide a life-saving bed net to every refugee in need in Kenya - and have since seen the malaria rates plummet," according to Elizabeth Gore, Executive Director of Nothing But Nets.
