Second year guard Kenny Hayes will return to the Red Claws for another season, according to an announcement today by Maine's basketball team.

“I'm very excited to be back in Maine this year and ready to compete for the NBA D-League championship,” said Hayes.

During his rookie year in Portland, the 6'2'' guard from Miami University of Ohio played in 43 games, averaging 7.2 points.

“We have the best fans in the league, and I'm very excited to be back in a Red Claws Uniform and play in front of them,” Hayes said.

Hayes has made his mark in the community too. He tried sailing for the first time in Casco Bay this summer and helped the team with its weeklong Junior Red Claws Basketball Camp.

“I got a chance to meet a lot of the fan this summer, and they are the main reason I'm coming back,” Hayes shared.
