Theo Bolts to Cubs

The Red Sox leadership that delivered two World Series wins to Boston in the 2000s will be gone next season. The shake-up seemed inevitable after the Sox finished 3rd in the AL East following an epic September collapse.

Terry Francona got pushed out of the manager position two weeks ago.

Now wonder-boy General Manager Theo Epstein is reportedly taking a job with another star-crossed ball club.

WEEI and the Boston Herald broke that Theo is bolting to the Chicago Cubs. The lovable losers in Wrigleyville haven't even made it to the World Series in 66 years. They last won it all in 1908.

Epstein will make over $15 million over the next five years with the Cubs. His Cub connections are kind of weak; according to MLB.com, the Boston native "does have a Cubs link, having jammed onstage with Pearl Jam, whose lead singer, Eddie Vedder, is a huge Cubs fan."
