Patriots Back on Track After Win Against Raiders
Describing it as a "tough win but good win," Coach Bill Belichick got the New England Patriots (3-1) back on track Sunday with a 31-19 Victory over the Raiders in Oakland (2-2).
Tom Brady threw for fewer than 300 yards for the first time this year, but still connected for two touchdowns without any interceptions.
Former Patriot Richard Seymour, who was playing his former team for the first time since getting traded, inadvertently helped the Pats by being too aggressive and picking up penalties that kept New England's first touchdown drive alive.
But the bigger story was the Patriots efficient running game. Even Belichick claimed he was "proud of the way we ran the ball" in his post-game presser. Rookie Stevan Ridley ran for 97 yards and a touchdown and fourth year back BenJarvus Green-Ellis also picked up 75 yards and a successful run into the endzone.
The Pats battle Rex Ryan and the arch-rival New York Jets at Gillette Stadium next week.
