Members of the Maine Brewer’s Guild, in tandem with the organizers of Maine Restaurant Week, are hosting the first annual Maine Beer Week from November 10-17.
Maine is home to over 20 breweries which produce more than 100 different brands. Some craft brewers like Allagash and Shipyard are now known across America while others like Orono's Black Bear Brewery cater mostly to local tastes.
“There’s definitely a sense of camaraderie within Maine’s beer industry,” Geoff Masland, brewer and director of business operations at Oxbow Brewery in Newcastle, told the USM Free Press. [3] “The collaboration and enthusiasm that comes from craft brewers gets passed along to beer drinkers.”
Over 30 restaurants from Kennebunkport to Bangor [4] will be hosting tasting sessions and other special events throughout the week.
