Vietghanistan

On September 14, Admiral Mullin, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs addressed the Senate Armed Services Committee regarding our involvement in Afghanistan. He predicted that the conflict would go on forever, and that we would probably need to involve more combat troops. 68,000 is not enough. It’s never enough. If you listen hard you can hear some congressmen whispering the V word. You’d have to be blind not to see the parallel. The message to learn is that when we finally tucked our tail and escaped Saigon, things turned out pretty well for the Vietnamese. And there is another, closer parallel.
