If President Barack Obama ends up nominating Elena Kagan for the Supreme Court, he will be trying to install a judge who has advocated for his Administration's controversial stances on the powers of the Executive Branch.
Kagan made it clear during a visit last September to Harvard Law School, where she had served as Dean, that she ultimately represents the interests of the President in her current role as Soliciter General.
