Feds Funding Tourism in Maine
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Office of Rural Development is awarding $50,908 to Mountain Counties Heritage, Inc, a group based in Farmington. The funding will be used to establish tourism training programs in Franklin, Piscataquis and Washington counties.
“I am pleased that the USDA has awarded this funding,” said Maine's Congressman Mike Michaud. “Bringing valuable expertise and training to our rural tourism businesses will promote economic development and job creation. This modest amount of funding can really go a long way.”
