Feds Send Maine $1,263,098 for Energy Rebate Program

Maine's state-run rebate program for consumer purchases of new ENERGY STAR qualified home appliances will get a $1,263,098 boost from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The DOE is sending out a total of $300 million in stimulus funds to help states with Energy Star rebate programs.
“This funding gives our state another resource to promote energy savings for Maine families,” said Maine's Congressman Mike Michaud.
The ENERGY STAR program is a joint venture between the DOE and the Environmental Protection Agency that certifies which products meet its efficiency guidelines. Eligible products could include central air cond....
