Bicycle Coalition of Maine Announces Support for Transport Bond

The Bicycle Coalition of Maine has announced its support for the state transportation bond on the ballot November 3, even though the Maine legislature eliminated $1 million in funds for bicycle and pedestrian facilities from the measure.
“We support this measure - Question 6 on the ballot - because cyclists benefit from many road and bridge improvements,” said Nancy Grant, the coalition’s board president. “The reverse also is true. When bridges and roads fall into disrepair, then cycling conditions deteriorate and, in some cases, make travel impossible.”
