Sen. Snowe Responds to Sotomayor Nomination

Maine's Senator Olympia Snowe released a statement yesterday on President Obama’s nominee for the US Supreme Court, Judge Sonia Sotomayor. Sotomayer is an Hispanic woman currently serving in the US appeals court in New York. If approved, she would replace retiring justice David Souter.
Snowe's support is important, because some members in the Republican Party may attempt a filibuster over the belief that Sotomayer is too liberal.
