FreedomWorks, a Washington, DC advocacy group with ties to the Tea Party movement, is attempting to frame Obama's energy reform plans as a handout to oil companies like BP.
In a statement, the group claims that "opportunistic companies" like General Electric, Duke Energy, and BP are lobbying behind the scenes so that they can profit off of the cap and trade legislation that's being penned by Sens. John Kerry (D-MA) and Joe Lieberman (I-CT).
