Tree Grows in Lung

The Russians are challenging Mainers over who deserves to use the slogan "the Pine Tree State."
A 28-year-old patient in the city of Izhevsk, Russia had a fir tree growing inside of his lung, according to the daily Komsomolskaya Pravda.
“I blinked three times, and thought I was seeing things. Then I called the assistant to have a look,” Vladimir Kamashev, the doctor who treated the man, the newspaper.
Doctors believe the man inhaled a small bud, which sprouted and started to grow inside his lung. A part of the lung with the fir tree was removed successfully and will undergo more studies.
