Maine Household Spending Breakdown

Maine households spend less money than households in most other states, according to an analysis by Bundle.com, a website that tracks spending habits.

The average Maine household spent $32,839 (excluding rent and mortages) in 2009, placing Maine as the 12th thriftiest* nationwide. By comparison, New Hampshire households spent an average of $40,081 while Massachusetts households dropped $39,792. Connecticut households were the biggest spenders in America at $57,331 per year.
