A memorial will be built for victims of violence within the East Campus Zone of the Maine Capitol grounds in Augusta.
Governor John E. Baldacci ceremonially signed LD 117, "Resolve, To Facilitate the Creation of a Memorial for the Families and Friends of Children Who Have Died by Violence" today. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Patsy Crockett (D-Augusta), had passed last month in the House and Senate.
