Medical Student with Maine Ties Admits to Bank Fraud Scheme

Olumide Pidan, a 30 year old Chicago medical student, has been accused of stealing the identities of more than 80 people and removing a total of $85,000 from their bank accounts. Piden, a native of Nigeria, was charged in late June in federal court with two counts of aggravated identity theft and one count of bank fraud. He allegedly went about his highly organized thefts two years ago while studying at Saint Joseph’s College and living in Portland, Maine.
