Portland, Maine -- Chris Busby, the publisher of the Bollard, an independent Portland newspaper, sat down with new police chief James Craig at the end of May.
When asked about his positions on the death penalty, gun control and marijuana laws, Craig claimed his job was to enforce whatever laws are on the books.
"I don’t know how much time the department has spent on, as you describe, recreational [use]," Craig said. "Again, the law dictates that, and at this particular point in time, the use of marijuana is still a crime."
