Recently we published an article on the proposed offshore wind research center for UMaine and the state’s efforts towards sustainable energy production. Today in a Senate Commerce Committee meeting Senator Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) emphasized the importance of the oceans to our national economy and renewable energy to our fishing industry. She identified Maine as “uniquely poised to be a leader in this effort" towards transforming the way we produce energy.
