Clam-Powered Cars

This year the Yarmouth Clam Festival, July 17-19, is going green. In pursuit of an environmentally friendly event, the organizers say the vegetable oil used to fry clams will be recycled and converted into alternative fuel for diesel engines.
The Forecaster reports there will also be additional recycling and trash bins provided, event vendors will donate their used oil to a South Berwick engineering consulting firm, and Sysco will provide recycled napkins, one-at-a-time napkin dispensers, and fiber trays for the food vendors.
