Topless Coffee Shop in Maine Now Topless Building
The Grand View Topless Coffee Shop, a controversial converted motel in Vassalboro, Maine burned to the ground early Wednesday morning.
The residents of the town of just over 4000 had protested the shop since its opening in February and state officials suspect arsonists were involved.
The day before the fire, the shop's proprietor, Donald Crabtree, met with the town's Planning Board to get approval for his expansion plans. Crabtree wanted to include topless dancing and extend the shop's hours until 1 a.m..
