Maine's Sunday River Fires Up the Snow Guns

It's only been fall for a few days but Sunday River is already getting ready for the winter's ski season. Saturday morning, September 26, the Maine ski resort fired up its snow guns for the first time this year at its South Ridge area, near the Chondola lift.
“Last winter we tested snowmaking on October 19 and were the first resort on the East Coast to open for a second year in a row on Halloween,” said Brent Larson, mountain manager for Sunday River. “The fact that we’re still in September and seeing cold enough weather puts us in a better then ever position to offer great early season conditions.”
