Auburn Unveiling New Art Wall

Auburn's new 700+ foot Art Wall on Main Street will be unveiled to the public on Saturday, September 24. The event at 10am will feature artists speaking about their works and will include music by Down East Brass and refreshments.

The City of Auburn and L/A Arts made a call to artists from across Maine to submit works about the "Natural World" which could be digitally replicated along the wall. Of thirty eight submissions, eight artists were selected by a panel made up of Jean McGuiness (Maine Center for Creativity), Robyn Holman (Curator for the University of Maine), Ray Berube (City Councilman), Patricia Chandler (Local Artist) and Odelle Bowman (Executive Director of L/A Arts).

The featured artists are Gary Cooper of Fayette, Penny Hood of Farmington, Denis LeBlanc of Auburn, Kristin Malin of Georgetown, Ellen Rawding of South Paris, Duncan Slade of Norway, Lois Strickland of Pownal and Steve Traficonte of Oxford.
