Maine's Saddleback Mountain Prepares for the Sixth Annual Pond Skimming Contest

This Saturday, Saddleback Mountain in Rangeley, Maine hosts its sixth annual Pond Skimming contest. Skiers attempt to glide as far as they can across a man-made pond.
"Just don't lean forward or too far back and you'll sail right over it like glass" said Jim Quimby, Director of Mountain Operations at Saddleback Mountain in a statement.
It is all part of Saddleback's "Spring Fever" event series, which kicked off last weekend with the mountain's Cardboard Box Race.
