Friendship Sloop Races Celebrated Maine's Boatbuilding Tradition

Last weekend, 23 Friendship Sloops returned to Rockland, Maine for the annual July regatta featuring the Maine-made boats. Friendship Sloops were once used as lobster boats but have found new life as classic yachts.
Here is a short bit of the boat's history from the Friendship Sloop Society:
