Shoppers Warned of Safety Concerns when Buying Cheap Bikes

AAA has issued a warning for parents that are rushing to toy stores to find discount bikes for their kids this holiday season.
“The biggest mistake consumers make when selecting a child’s bicycle is purchasing one too large and thinking the child will grow into it,” said Jennifer Huebner, manager, AAA Traffic Safety Programs. Bikes are associated with more injuries to children than any other consumer product other than cars, according to AAA.
