Husson and UNE Win Bids to Open Pharmacy Schools

Maine will have its first two pharmacy schools this fall now that the national Accreditation Council on Pharmacy Education in Chicago has approved bids by the University of New England in Portland and Husson University in Bangor.
The Council granted pre-candidacy status to the new schools, according to the Portland Press Herald.
"Pre-candidacy status essentially means, 'Go ahead and open for business,' " John Cormier, founding dean of UNE's College of Pharmacy told the paper. "Now the hard work begins."
