Maine Voices: Should Maine Legalize Same-Sex Marriage?

The Maine House and Senate have both now passed LD 1020 a bill which would allow any two adults to marry in the eyes of the state, regardless of gender. Governor John Baldacci, who has opposed gay marriage in the past, is keeping an "open mind" on the issue and may sign the bill into law.
The bill forbids an individual to marry his or her parent, grandparent, child, grandchild, sibling, nephew, niece, aunt, uncle. First cousins may marry with a physician's certificate of genetic counseling. Per the United States and Maine Co....
