Maine Tax Reform Outcomes Disputed

Let's start with the obvious - taxes are necessary in a civil society. They fund public safety, education, transportation, defense, social welfare, etc. The issue is and always has been WHAT ARE THE SPENDING PRIORITIES, WHO PAYS FOR THEM AND HOW MUCH ARE THEY TAXED?
