Stimulus Check Headed to Presque Isle Airport

The Federal Aviation Administration is sending a $2.5 million grant from the federal stimulus package to extend the parallel taxiway at the Northern Maine Regional Airport in Presque Isle.
“This grant is great news,” said Congressman Mike Michaud. “It will create jobs and improve infrastructure, which has a long-term economic development benefit for the surrounding communities. This project will also improve safety and efficiency at the airport.”
According to Michaud's office, a full parallel taxiway will improve the operational safety and efficiency of the airport.
