Monhegan Island, 12 nautical miles off the Maine coast, is one of the state's most magical places.
The island has both an artist's colony and a village of working lobstermen. With no cars and access to the mainland limited by a long ferry ride, visitors flock to the peaceful refuge each summer.
A benefit tea party for the Monhegan Memorial Library brought together many islanders and tourists to The Island Inn on a foggy Sunday afternoon in July. Catch video of the event above, courtesy of "bbvpress."
