The Maine Women's Lobby, along with Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, the Family Planning Association of Maine and the Maine Civil Liberties Union are holding a candlelight vigil this Thursday, June 4, at Monument Square in Portland to honor the memory of Dr. George Tiller.
Tiller was murdered while attending church in Wichita, Kansas by a person who opposed his abortion practice.
There has been national coverage of the murder, with President Barack Obama saying he was "shocked and outraged." Anti-abortion activists have also condemned the crime.
The last time abortion foes murdered a doctor was in 1998.....
