An Evangelist in New York City

It was an extra hot summer day, as the husband and wife, son and daughter head down the highway, on their long awaited vacation. The kids in the back seat were enjoying the new sites, with the window down. Suddenly, a bee flew into the car. The little girl screamed, "Daddy a bee, a bee"! She was deathly allergic to bee stings.

The bee was madly flying around, inside the car, and the atmosphere was turning into a panic. The bee flew up to the front of the car, and the loving father caught the bee in his hand as he was driving, then let it go. The daughter began to yell again, seeing the bee was loose. The daddy called to her and said, "Honey, look in my hand". She saw the stinger embedded in her daddy's palm. The dad said "It can't hurt you now. I took the stinger from the bee".

This is why I reach out to people on the streets, because Jesus took our sting of death, on the cross. It was there on the cross, He lovingly paid for our wrongs. All we have to do is believe and receive His gift of love. The Lord places within every born again believer, His heart of compassion, for others to know Him personally. Jesus compassion within me, moves me to tell others of Jesus powerful overwhelming love, and salvation. Everything in life is so temporary, but His Kingdom is so eternal and full filling.

I met Jesus, up close and personal, May 15th, 1972. He has been my best friend, and a refuge of strength through every storm. Seeing the gospel of Jesus change a life, motivates me with zealous fire. I remember Jason, I met on the street. He had serious plans to commit suicide. Jason was so depressed, about his girl friend giving away their baby, he wanted to check out, permanent. I shared with him, how beautiful Jesus was, and He had a fantastic life for him. Jason received hope that day, and gave his heart and life to the Lord. You should of seen the smile, and peaceful joy, that shined from his face.

Then there was Karen, who knelt with me in prayer, along the highway. She was a serious Meth. user, and desperately wanted strength to change. Psalms 18:1 says, " I love Thee O Lord my strength". Karen, fell in love with the Jesus, and was strengthened. That day Karen was spiritually born again. She is now clean from Meth. and is totally free from the chains of sin.

Mark 16:15 says "And He said to them, go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation". Freely we have received, freely we give; this is why I reach out to others, on the streets. There are plenty of church buildings, but to be the living church, along the highways and byways, that is the need. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life", John 3:16. This life changing message, God's free love gift, brings life in our now, and eternally, it must be shared.

I have held the cross on major street corners, in Oregon, Las Vegas, Telluride Colorado, New Jersey. Presently the Lord is wanting me to focus on New York City. Jesus said in John 10:10, "I came that they might have life, and have it abundantly"! I pray you know Jesus, and receive His abundant life, He freely gives. "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe in His name" John1:12.

This promise is for you, personally. Any sin, no matter how big and dirty it may be, can be washed clean by the pure blood of Jesus! I have found after 35 years, a Jesus day is the best day. "There is a river who streams make glad the city of God". Psalms 46:4 What a beautiful picture of His life, flowing into us. May His love soak you, as you jump into His river. All praise to the King of Glory, my Lord Jesus.
