Google Is "Frenemy" of the New York Times

Internet giant Google is considered a "frenemy" at the New York Times, according to its Executive Editor Bill Keller.
Google's News feature allows Internet users to read headlines and short blurbs of stories from newspapers like the Times. Google makes money from selling ads next to this service, which it does not share with publishers. Newspapers benefit if Google sends traffic to their websites.
