Night of Poetry at Bates College in Lewiston
Students in Bates College's contemporary performance poetry course will perform their work at 7 pm on Tuesday, May 26.
The event is at the Gannett Theater, Pettigrew Hall, 2 Andrews Road in Lewiston. The class was taught by William Pope.L, a senior lecturer in theater at Bates College and an acclaimed artist.
"This course uses abstract performances to relay concepts of great depth," explains Kelly Cox '11, a philosophy major and theater minor from Worcester, Mass. "These ideas are significant in that they affect a variety of people. We use our bodies to build a metaphor and create poetry though physical struggle."
