"Bike Valet" at the American Folk Festival

The Bicycle Coalition of Maine will partner with the American Folk Festival in Bangor to provide free valet bicycle parking at the festival on August 27-29. The valet bicycle parking station is located at the corner of Broad and Washington Streets.

“Cyclists will have a safe and convenient place to leave their bikes while they enjoy the festival,” said Allison Vogt, the coalition’s executive director. “Those who arrive on bike will help to reduce traffic in the area, and they’ll save money on gas. The festival also gives the coalition a great way to reach more people with our bicycle safety materials and Share the Road message.”

The American Folk Festival offers a multicultural celebration of traditional music and dance, arts and crafts and an active children's area. Admission is free but donations are encouraged.

For more information about the festival’s valet bicycle parking, please contact the Bicycle Coalition of Maine at info@BikeMaine.org or call 207-623-4511. Bicycle valet volunteers are welcome to sign up at www.americanfolkfestival.com.
