Gov. Baldacci: Use $300k from Stimulus for Maine Arts

Governor John Baldacci is seeking almost $300,000 from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to be used to help support the arts in Maine.
“These funds will help our cultural organizations that contribute so much to the character of Maine, including our creative economy, downtown revitalization and cultural tourism,” Governor Baldacci said in a statement. “The arts provide economic stability to our state both through direct jobs and ripple impacts as well as a creative outlet for thousands of our citizens.
