Jetblue Flight Attendant Gives New Meaning To Phrase "Take This Job And Shove It"

Admit it, we've all visualized ourselves screaming at our boss and telling him or her what they can do with their job. But Steve Slater, a JetBlue flight attendant, actually did it. Only it wasn't his boss that he told off--it a flight full of passengers!

According to sources who were on the plane, a passenger took something out of their overhead compartment and Slater had asked the passenger to sit down. After some banter back and forth, the conversation got heated and somehow, Slater was hit in the head with the door of the overhead compartment. Slater then demanded an apology and when he did not receive it, he took to the intercom and gave his profanity-ridden resignation. He said goodbye, grabbed a few beers, pulled the emergency exit chute and slid down the plane to an air bus and went home.

Slater was arrested shortly after he arrived home in Queens and is being charged with reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.

This guy was obviously having a pretty crappy day but I believe he hasn't done anything that anyone of us hasn't thought about doing at some point or another. We've all told people off and probably even sworn at people.

Perhaps pulling the emergency exit chute is considered a huge fois pas in the airline industry and may even carry some sort of harsh penalty.

But reckless endangerment? I'm no lawyer (nor do I play one on TV) but that seems a bit excessive. Fire him, fine him, smack his hands but possible jail time? I bet this guy wishes he never got out of bed this morning. And come on, haven't we all had one of those days?
